Placental volume, as measured by 3-dimensional sonography and levels of maternal plasma cell-free fetal DNA
Article Abstract:
A hypothesis that if fetal DNA in the maternal circulation derives from the placenta, then the maternal plasma/serum fetal DNA level should correlate with placental mass is presented. The association between circulating maternal plasma cff DNA levels and first-trimester placental volume is examined to test this hypothesis.

Cell-free fetal DNA in the cerebrospinal fluid of women during the peripartum period
Article Abstract:
A study to determine whether cell-free fetal DNA is detectable in the cerebrospinal fluid of women during pregnancy and after delivery is conducted. The result reveals that male fetal cells DNA is detectable in the cerebrospinal fluid of some pregnant women or some women after delivery.

Use of maternal plasma for noninvasive determination of fetal RhD status
Article Abstract:
Maternal plasma testing for fetal RhD status represents a new tool in the management of cases of RhD alloimmunization in pregnancy. Two cases of determination of fetal RhD typing using free fetal DNA in maternal plasma are discussed.
