Predicting the clinical outcome of congenital unilateral ureteropelvic junction obstruction in newborn by urinary proteome analysis
Article Abstract:
The urinary polypeptides from individual's neonatal ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction to predict which individuals with this condition would evolve towards obstruction that needs surgical correction were analyzed. The polypeptides that enable diagnosis of the severity of obstruction were identified and by using noninvasasive biomakers it was predicted several months in advance with about 94% precision, the clinical evolution of neonates with UPJ obstruction.

Trends in microarray analysis
Article Abstract:
Research trends and advances in microarray technology indicate its vast possibilities potentially replacing many of the present day hypothesis-based research into discovery-based research. Microarray technique is a 'precision in-precision out' methodology and lends itself for exploitation in diverse areas such as genetic screening, proteomics, and microarray density.

Proteomics delivers on promise of cancer biomarkers
Article Abstract:
Researchers are using the latest in proteomics techniques, to expose a malignant tumor. A clinical proteomics program jointly run by the US National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) created a stir last year when its researchers developed a diagnostic test that is 100% sensitive and 95% specific.
