Preventing cervical cancer in the developing world
Article Abstract:
Several countries, including China, Costa Rica and India, have started campaigning to fight cervical cancer by introducing low-cost screening methods such as visual inspection with acetic acid or iodine. The introduction of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine might help prevention campaigns in the developing countries by reducing the spread of the HPV virus.
