Protease inhibitor-based regimens for HIV therapy
Article Abstract:
A review of the evidence for the use of boosted protease inhibitor (PI)s as early therapy is presented, with emphasis on data available from comparative randomized controlled trials. The improved formulations decreasing pill burden have prompted physicians to consider PI as first-line therapy.

Predictors of self-reported adherence and plasma HIV concentrations in patients on multidrug antiretroviral regimens
Article Abstract:
HIV patients who are most compliant with their medications have the greatest drops in viral levels, according to a study of 133 HIV-infected people. Only half the patients took all of their pills at the appropriate times.

A pilot study of the use of mycophenolate mofetil as a component of therapy for multidrug-resistant HIV-1 infection
Article Abstract:
Mycophenolate mofetil may be effective in treating HIV patients who are not responding to AIDS drugs. This drug enhances the activity of some AIDS drugs, including abacavir and didanosine.
