Protection against radiation in medicine
Article Abstract:
The discovery of X-rays by William Rontgen in 1895 and of natural radioactivity by Henri Becquerel in 1896 laid the foundation for diagnostic radiology. The International Commission on Radiological Protection was established in 1928 to take care of safety issues in diagnostic radiology.

Radiotherapy: still young after almost a hundred years
Article Abstract:
Radiotherapy, by itself or in combination with chemotherapy and/or surgery, has become a mainstay of cancer treatment. Its history began in 1895, when X-rays were used to treat a cancer patient onlfy four weeks after William Rontgen discovered X-rays.

Quality assurance in radiotherapy
Article Abstract:
Radiotherapy is the most widely used cancer treatment in the world. Physicians are concerned with improving diagnosis, estimation of tumor size, dose planning and dose measurement before irradiating a cancer patient.
