Quality criteria in human experimental nutrition research
Article Abstract:
The advancement in nutrition research depends upon systematic development of human dietary intervention studies. These studies are influenced by the design or impact of the study itself on the variables of interest. Studies with cross-over designs are preferred as they eliminate the between-individual variation. Small number of subjects can lead to inconclusive results and also rejection of a good theory. It is difficult to follow the in vivo effects in target organs or at cellular level due to limited access to tissues for sampling.

Excretion of amino acid residues from diets based on wheat flour or oat bran in human subjects with ileostomies
Article Abstract:
A study of the response of amino acid residues to the intake of diets consisting of oat bran or wheat flour in 10 subjects with ileostomies shows insignificant differences in the release of crude proteins/amino acids on the two days of the study. The consumption of an oat bran high-fiber diet led to low amino acid and crude protein digestibility.
