Quality group to form physician advisory panel
Article Abstract:
The National Committee for Quality Assurance is forming a special advisory panel of physicians to make recommendations to the committee. The panel came about after physicians fought for a place on the NCQA board to represent physicians' concerns and viewpoints and to make the committee more physician-friendly. Although the NCQA thought that physicians would be inappropriate on the board, the organization was willing to form a panel that would represent different physician specialties, different geographic areas and the different genders.
