Relationship between dietary habits, age, lifestyle, and socio-economic status among adult Norwegian women. The Norwegian Women and Cancer Study
Article Abstract:
A cross-sectional study of some 9,885 Norwegian women aged 45 to 69 has shown that the older of the population maintains a healthier diet than the younger ones. The study has further concluded that, although socio-economic status was found to impact on the food habits of Norwegian women, the effect of lifestyle factors, such as smoking and physical activity, was noted to pose a greater effect. Some of the findings of the study include the higher consumption of potatoes and fish among older Norwegian women, while younger women prefer coffee, meat and alcohol.
