Researchers identify protein that helps tumor cells resist cancer drugs
Article Abstract:
According to the scientists, majority of tumors increase the production of a normal protein called MUC1, which help to protect malignant cells from the effects of anticancer drugs. The scientists are trying to come with potential strategies to attack cancer cells that overexpress MUC1.

Scientists study "senescence" in cancer
Article Abstract:
The various mechanisms, including apoptosis and oncogene-induced senescence that hinder the progression of cancer are discussed. The analysis reveals that senescence keeps the cells in a nondividing state, hence slowing their multiplication.

Studies show tissues surrounding tumors have a role in cancer progression
Article Abstract:
The events occurring in the tissues surrounding cancer cells play an important role in cancer progression from normalcy to malignancy. Further a combination of therapies that would fight cancer is suggested.
