The United Kingdom's Department of Health is focusing on improving the protection of the dignity and privacy of patients. In "The Essence of Care" publication, patients expressed their prioritization of dignity and privacy issues. Many patients used examples of where doctors and other health care staff were too intrusive in their personal space when providing health services.
