Risk factors associated with an unsuccessful pessary fitting trial in women with pelvic organ prolapse
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted on 100 consecutive women with symptomatic pelvic organ prolapse to identify the risk factors associated with an unsuccessful pessary fitting trial in women with pelvic organ prolapse and to identify the pessary used at each stage of prolapse. 73% women had successful pessary fitting trial, the risk factors for an unsuccessful pessary fitting trial were short vaginal length and a wide vaginal introitus and Gellhorn pessaries are needed with stage four prolapse.

First-trimester screening for trisomy-21 using a simplified method to assess the presence or absence of the fetal nasal bone
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the benefit of including nasal bone assessment in addition to standard first-trimester as a screening test for Down syndrome, using a strict criterion for classification of nasal bone absence. It was found that the use of a strict criterion to determine nasal bone absence leads to fewer cases classified as absent and may simplify the implementation of nasal bone as a marker for first-trimester screening.
