Safe driver on board: steer clear of the leading cause of workplace deaths
Article Abstract:
Employers could tailor fit their safety training programs so that they effectively address traffic safety. Training programs should include skills training, decision-making drills and vehicle management training. Training programs should be coupled with regular refresher courses to be effective and employers could factor in statistics in planning for training programs so that prevalent problems are emphasized.

When workers lead
Article Abstract:
Managing occupational safety would be more effective if employees were directly involved, as in the case of Lawrence Livermore National Labs and the United Food and Commercial Workers union. Tips for getting employees involved include being tactful when presenting an idea, motivating employees to join safety programs and thinking of ways to bring down injury rates.
