Safe stacking in warehouses is essential to prevent worker injuries and damage to goods and machinery. Employees must follow the OSHA regulations and also manufacturersE guidelines. Ceiling clearances, strong shelves, stacking away from machinery, load limits, and keeping workspaces clear are some of the safety measures suggested.

Revised lockout/tagout standard addresses alternative methods

A revision of the 20-year-old standard on lockout/tagout will be published by the American National Standards Institute Z244 committee, on April 14 2004. Ed Grund, the chairman of the committee, outlines the new guidelines.
