Scientists scan genome for autism clues
Article Abstract:
The Autism Genome Project Consortium, a group of some 120 collaborators from 50 centers in North America and Europe performed genome scan for autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) finding clues to autism susceptibility. The researchers identified a region on chromosome 11 that was not previously linked to the risk of developing autism, and the altered region was found more often in females.

New imaging approaches unveiled: Techniques reveal clues to body's biochemistry
Article Abstract:
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique, since the mid-1980s, is used to detect anatomical changes caused by diseases, but it lacked in the ability to detect the earliest molecular hallmarks of illness. However, researchers studying new, highly sensitive MRI devices reveal that such advances would improve diagnoses and allow physicians to monitor response to therapies.

Genes harbor clues to addiction, recovery
Article Abstract:
According to the findings presented at the American Psychological Society, genetic variants in many individuals may be the reason behind why they are unable to kick an addiction habit. Scientists and researchers are exercising caution and feel that more genome research is needed to pin-point the exact cause for addiction and how it can be effectively treated.
