Separation of amnion from choriodecidua is an integral event to the rupture of normal term fetal membranes and constitutes a significant component of the work required
Article Abstract:
A study is carried out to determine the sequence of events that occur during fetal membrane (FM) rupture and to compare the biophysical properties of intact I-M with its separated individual components (amnion and choriodecidual). It is found that separation of amnion from choriodecidua occurs as part of normal term FM rupture and FMs become significantly weaker as a result of this separation.

The influence of obesity and diabetes on the prevalence of macrosomia
Article Abstract:
The study was undertaken to determine the relative contribution of abnormal pregravid maternal body habitus and diabetes on the prevalence of large-for-gestational-age (LGA) infants. Having shown pregravid maternal obesity to have a strong independent affect on the risk of delivering a LGA infant.
