Clueless
Article Abstract:
Parents may be largely unaware of the risks their middle-school-aged children are taking. Researchers surveyed 194 students and their parents, and found that parents and students largely agreed on the prevalence of seat belt use, diet pill use, use of bicycle helmets, and other matters. Parents significantly underestimated the prevalence of drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, weapon-carrying in school, suicide attempts, and sexual intercourse, compared to responses by the students. Parental education may increase parental support for intervention and prevention services.

Sexuality in old age: why it must not be ignored by nurses
Article Abstract:
The sexual needs of older people are often overlooked by nursing staff who tend to concentrate on the medical and social aspects of care. It is important for nursing staff to challenge the traditional view of sex during the latter part of live and try to consider the special skills required when dealing with the issue. Difficulties may arise when a newly widowed person begins a new relationship or if illness, such as AIDs or HIV is discovered. Medical staff need to be trained to deal with the sexuality of older people in all aspects of social life.
