Small steps or a giant leap for the uninsured?
Article Abstract:
Forty-one million Americans had no health insurance in 2001, a number that has not changed in over a decade. This is despite the implementation of the State Children's Health Insurance Plan. Eighty percent of all uninsured Americans have at least one family member who works.

Lack of health insurance often imposes economic constraints that can compromise a patients medical treatment decisions. Barriers to health care are surveyed and forecast on uninsured patients in US is presented.
