Smoking at work consultation
Article Abstract:
The Health & Safety Commission is inviting comments on proposals for an Approved Code of Practice covering passive smoking at work. The Code would provide advice to employers on their health, safety and welfare obligations regarding passive smoking at work. The proposal is available from the HSE Books and the deadline for comments is October 29 1999.

Advice on sheeting. (road haulage industry guidelines)
Article Abstract:
The Health and Safety Executive has launched new guidelines for the road haulage industry aimed at preventing sheeting accidents. Sheets are used to keep materials hot, dry and prevent debris from falling. However many reported sheeting accidents have resulted in serious injuries and occasionally fatalities.

At-work road risk consultation
Article Abstract:
Issues are presented concerning the research which has been carried out by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents into driving accidents involving drivers who are at-work. Road risk management is discussed.
