Stand and deliver
Article Abstract:
Many members of the UKCC are hoping to be re-elected to the council when voting takes place in the summer of 1997. Members feel that the council is a powerful influence on policy making and that it gives nurses an opportunity to express their views. Members have to attend council meetings in London, UK, and the 60 members are expected to spend between 20 and 40 days per year on council business. They have to be confident enough to speak in front of about 100 other people, but it gives them a clearer insight to the way the nursing profession operates.
