Ortega and etymological man
Article Abstract:
Spanish author Jose Ortega y Gasset had a tremendous impact on Spanish philosophy and letters. His intellectual curiosity led him to examine his native Spain not only for the pure joy of learning, but also to give direction to the country that was, to use one of his favorite metaphors, drifting like a shipwreck in the ocean of life. For Ortega, direction is to be found in the philosophical study of history. As linguist and philologist, he also saw that the soul of his people was expressed in the metaphorical systems of their language, so he used language as a tool to study the history of his people.

Article Abstract:
There are a number of doctors in the UK who have become well-known media personalities. However, the nursing community still has a very low media profile. Nurses are often asked to comment on health issues, but they are rarely requested to present a television programme or write a column. Health presenters require personality and knowledge, and these can be offered just as much by nurses as by doctors. The main reason why nurses have a low media profile is lack of confidence. The fact that doctors are more highly respected than nurses also prevents nurses from gaining a higher media profile.
