The French paradox

The low cases of heart disease among the French as compared to Americans can be attributed to their high consumption of olive oil. Other factors that has been related to decreased susceptiblity to heart disease are moderate alcohol consumption and exercise.

Heart disease: not for men only
Article Abstract:
Medical research have shown that heart disease is deadlier, more complicated and diagnostically trickier in women. Even if this is so, women with heart disease are not seriously and aggressively treated or are less likely to be referred for surgery.

Aspirin, women & heart attacks
Article Abstract:
A study revealed a 32% reduction in heart attacks for women over age 50 who took one to six aspirins per week. There was no reduction in risk for women who took seven or more. The risk of having a stroke was not affected by aspirin usage.
