The challenge ahead
Article Abstract:
The UK government is expected to invest up to 7 million pounds sterling in developing mental health care between 1999 and 2002. The profession is being seen as gaining importance within the health community, therefore training and working practices are expected to change for the better. Many mental health patients are elderly and therefore require mental and aged nursing skills. Mental health nurses must be committed and experienced in a field which is extremely rewarding to work in.
