Crime experts say that self-defense methods can sometimes lead to more harm than good. Instead of preventing crime, self-defense tactics give people a false sense of confidence and thus, exposes them to more risks. Experts say that self-defense does not assure people their safety. They advise people to know when to use their self-defense knowledge and to identify the situations when these tactics can be useful to avoid getting hurt.
