Folding of secretory and membrane proteins. (Review Article)
Article Abstract:
The proper folding of a protein is vital to its performance. The protein is produced as a long string of amino acids, but it must ultimately be folded into a three-dimensional shape. This normally occurs in a cell component called the endoplasmic reticulum. There, small molecules called molecular chaperones participate in the folding process. Then the chaperones disengage and the protein is excreted. If the protein does not fold properly, the chaperones remain attached to it and the protein is degraded.

Radioactive review hurries Nirex
Article Abstract:
A government interdepartmental review team has called for a safe disposal site for radioactive waste, and advisers have warned Nirex not to delay its scheme for burying intermediate level waste (ILW). Nirex's application to build a rock characterisation facility (RCF) near Sellafield will undergo a planning inquiry. It will enable scientists to test the geology of the site.

OH nurse review
Article Abstract:
A survey of occupational health nurses in Britain shows that they enjoy a better nurse-to-employee ratio in the private sector compared to the public sector. Top priorities for OH nurses in the private sector are health screening and surveillance, whereas OH nurses in the public sector have to concentrate on staff immunisation programmes.
