The fall-out from Chernobyl
Article Abstract:
WHO's international programme on the health effects (IPHECA) of the Chernobyl accident aims to provide guidelines to countries at a risk of a radiation accident. IPHECA research shows that cancer and mental retardation are some of the common diseases among Chernobyl, Ukraine residents.

Mongolia's national drug policy
Article Abstract:
Mongolia's National Drug Policy, formulated under the guidance of WHO, is aimed at making drugs more available to everyone as the country shifts to a market economy. The policy's initial success is reflected in the significant decline in infant mortality rate from 1990-1994.

Towards a rational drug policy
Article Abstract:
The Zimbabwe Essential Drugs Action Programme was established through the joint efforts of the Zimbabwean government, WHO and the Danish International Development Agency. Its main goal is to ensure the availability of drugs included in the Essential Drugs List for Zimbabwe.
