Current surveys report that about 54 percent of kids suffering from malaria in Africa receive an anti-malarial drug, but fail to seize information on the effectiveness, timings, and dose of the treatment. The researchers are found responsible since they lack to evaluate the accurate impact of interventions such as drugs or insecticide-impregnated bed net.

New vaccines enter fray in fight against tuberculosis

Clinical trials in Africa are testing new vaccines against tuberculosis. The available Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine is safe is used globally. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about one-third of the world's population is infected with tuberculosis.

HIV infection in African patients is widely thought to progress more rapidly than in patients from industrialized nations, and AIDS in Africa is often regarded as a separate disease from cases in northern countries. Research has proven these notions to be misconceptions.
