Article Abstract:
Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), or winter depression, has only recently begun to attract the attention of psychiatrists, and still often remains undiagnosed. The most common form of SAD arises in autumn and winter, and is characterized by hypersomnia, tiredness, unhappiness, anxiety and increased weight and appetite. There are a number of treatments that can relieve the symptoms of SAD, including antidepressant drugs, cognitive therapy, psychotherapy and phototherapy.

A hard day's night
Article Abstract:
A study looking at the effect of night duty on nurses found 62% would prefer to work on permanent day duty. Whilst 68.23% found they suffered some form of illness whilst working on nights and 45.13% felt their work was of a lower standard on night duty. Some 279 nurses took part in the study.

Sleep patterns in older patients
