The relation between symptoms, viral load and viral load set point in primary HIV infection
Article Abstract:
The correlation between symptoms, initial viral load and viral load set point in primary HIV infection (PHI) is studied. It is found that a high initial viral load is associated with more symptoms during PHI and that there is a strong relation amongst initial HIV-1 RNA viral load levels and viral load set point.

Effect of antiretroviral agents on T-lymphocyte subset counts in healthy HIV-negative individuals
Article Abstract:
AIDS drugs do not appear to affect T cells directly, according to a study of 447 health care workers who had been exposed to HIV on the job. There were no significant differences in T cell counts between those who were not treated and those who were.

In vivo fluctuation of HTLV-I and HTLV-II proviral load in patients receiving antiretroviral drugs
Article Abstract:
Antiretroviral drugs can lower blood levels of HTLV, a virus related to HIV. In patients infected with both HIV and HTLV, drug treatment may cause a transient increase in blood levels of HTLV, followed by a decrease.
