The National Blood Service (NBS) is hosting World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) on June 14, 2005 as the need for blood is universal and many people know of someone who has required blood to save or improve his or her life. The role of nurses is crucial for the donation session, with the care of the donors and the safety of the blood being their main priority.

The hepatitis A vaccine contains inactivated hepatitis A vaccine virus surface antigen and it generally works by provoking the immune system. Some of its side effects include fever, malaise, loss of appetite, headache, fatigue, nausea, myalgia and generalized rashes.
