The role of statin therapy in preventing recurrent stroke
Article Abstract:
The role of statins in preventing recurrent stroke is examined. Lipid-lowering therapy should aim to reduce total serum cholesterol and all patients with stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or cerebral infarction should be offered a statin to prevent further cardiovascular events.
