Interpreting policy at local level
Article Abstract:
A nurse executive describes the challenges of putting health policy into practice. She discuses how her trust interpreted such policies and the way in which staff and organisations have had to work together to implement processes to improve patient care. She feels that nursing needs to take a proactive stance to ensure that the NHS achieves its aim of organizing health care around individual needs, rather than systems and institutions.
