The working wounded
Article Abstract:
Each week around 6,000 people in the United Kingdom are found to be suffering from cancer, it is therefore an important topic for consideration by all members of the workplace. The attitude of employers and other staff may differ greatly, Val Taylor found that although her boss was initially supportive she was fired whilst undergoing treatment. In contrast, Sue Todd found her employer and her colleagues very supportive which aided her recovery. The British Association for Cancer United Patients offers advice to both employers and those suffering from cancer.
