Thorough sonographic oocyte retrieval during in vitro fertilization produces results similar to ovarian wedge resection in patients with clomiphene citrate-resistant polycystic ovarian syndrome
Article Abstract:
A study to compare the effectiveness of a thorough sonographic oocyte retrieval to a routine in vitro fertilization retrieval to induce ovulation, pregnancy and endocrine changes in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome in their post-in vitro fertilization cycles is presented. One of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age is polycystic ovarian syndrome and its definitions rely on the clinical features of menstrual irregularities, hyperandrogenic effects, and the presence of polycystic ovarian morphologic conditions.

Outcomes of pregnancies achieved by donor egg in vitro fertilization-A comparison with standard in vitro fertilization pregnancies
Article Abstract:
The obstetric and perinatal outcomes of pregnancies achieved by donor egg in vitro fertilization (DE-IVF) are observed and these pregnancies are compared with those of women who also needed similar assisted reproductive technique, of similar socioeconomic status, and cared for by a small group of 8 physicians applying consistent diagnostic and treatment approaches. The results indicate that nulliparous pregnancies achieved by DE-IVF are associated with an increased risk of PIH.

Evaluation of the pregnancy prolongation index (PPI) as a measure of success of obstetric interventions in the prevention of preterm birth and associated morbidities
Article Abstract:
The study is undertaken to evaluate the validity of the pregnancy prolongation index (PPI) as a measure of preterm labor treatment success. The results indicate that PPI is a sensitive measure for the evaluation of treatment success in the inhibition of preterm labor and delivery.
