Time to clean up our act
Article Abstract:
Trust in the doctor-patient and nurse-patient relationship is a sensitive and complex issue. Patients must expose themselves physically and emotionally, and in return must be treated with respect. Cases of misconduct have highlighted issues of trust and regulation within the medical profession. It is clear that nurses must place strong emphasis on retaining patient trust, thus ensuring the well-being of nursing as a profession and of every element of nursing care.
