Toxoplasma health education in Europe
Article Abstract:
Understanding of the dangers of toxoplasma infection varies greatly among pregnant women in different European countries, according to the results of a survey of 53 teams with a special interest in congenital toxoplasmosis in 18 European countries. It was found that health education is often undertaken at local, rather than national, level, with respondents in 12 countries not being aware of toxoplasma health education being undertaken at all in their country. Research also looked at the best ways of heightening awareness of this issue.

An examination of the use of health education leaflets by health promotion officers
Article Abstract:
Leaflets play too great a part in health promotion work, according to a survey of 29 health promotion officers, most of whom wished to reduce their role as leaflet providers. However, there is currently no replacement for leaflets, and they are very effective in backing up health information from professionals. In the future, the provision of leaflets is likely to be rationalised, especially because of financial restrictions, and this will force health promotion officers to rely more heavily on commercially produced leaflets.
