Tracheal intubation
Article Abstract:
Considerable skill and experience are required for tracheal intubation which is an optimum method of providing and maintaining a clear airway, during adult resuscitation. Brief description of the advantages, disadvantages, suggested equipments and procedures are provided for this exercise, which could be difficult and sometimes hazardous particularly in difficult circumstances such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Mask ventilation

The pocket-mask and bag-mask ventilation techniques are described. The pocket mask is transparent, enabling prompt detection of vomit or blood in the patient's airway and bag-mask device allows the delivery of higher concentrations of oxygen.
