Article Abstract:
The investigation of the anthrax cases in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia is described. As of October 24, 2001, anthrax spores sent through the mail have caused 15 cases of anthrax and three deaths from anthrax.

As of November 7, 2001, 22 Americans have developed anthrax following exposure to contaminated mail. Most have occurred in postal workers who worked at postal facilities where the contaminated mail was processed.

Article Abstract:
The investigation of anthrax cases in New York, Florida, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia is reviewed. As of October 31, 2001, there have been 16 confirmed cases of anthrax and five suspected cases.
