What are your practice costs?
Article Abstract:
Abt Associates Inc will survey 4,300 physician practices as part of a mandated program to determine accuracy of the Medicare resource-based relative value scale system, which was adopted in 1992. The congressional mandate, which requires submission of a report by mid-1996, required Medicare official to determine current practice expenses so that the physician payment system was more accurate. Abt is receiving $2,1 million to complete the study.

What are your practice costs?
Article Abstract:
The Office of Management and Budget is expected, despite the partial government shutdown, to clear a physician-practice-cost survey by mid-Jan 1996. The survey is one component of a larger study, data from which will be used to adjust Medicare's payment system. The study is likely to result in significant changes to Medicare's resource-based relative value scale.
