What goes around comes around: presidential address
Article Abstract:
An obstetrician-gynecologist reflects on the changes in his profession since he began practice in 1955. He believes that obstetrician-gynecologists have often been and should be the primary care physician for women. Since obstetrician-gynecologists perform few deliveries and operations in a given week, most are already providing primary care. Many women prefer to have direct access to their obstetrician-gynecologist and obstetrician-gynecologists provide the best care for women.

The role of job-based health insurance system concept is examined in the light of providing beneficence, utilitarianism, and justice in the allocation of health care resources. The factors of the innovative Oregon Health Plan and its use of cost-effectiveness analysis for health care allocation that is based on league tables are presented.

Ethical concerns in industry support of continuing medical education: the con side
Article Abstract:
The ethical concerns related to the financial support by the medical industry for continuing medical education (CME) are discussed. The constructive interactions between physicians and for-profit health corporations will prove beneficial for the patients.
