The Bamako Initiative
Article Abstract:
The so-called Bamako Initiative is intended to increase general access to health care in sub-Saharan African countries by encouraging public involvement in decision-making. The Bamako Initiative is also designed to coordinate the decentralization of key state-run health operations.

The media disseminates both helpful and harmful information on health in countries around the world. There is a need for a partnership between the medical community and the media to ensure the dissemination of good information.
