The dietary habits of young people
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted in a secondary school to gauge pupils' knowledge and understanding of healthy eating. Questionnaires were used to gather data. Almost half of the pupils knew a poor diet could result in heart disease and another 27% knew about links with obesity, diabetes and tooth decay. However, this knowledge did not stop them eating unhealthy foods. Making this food less accessible would help them to choose healthier ones. The pupils suggested making healthy snacks cheaper, offering them in the school canteen and in vending machines.

Racism: time to turn words into action
Article Abstract:
The UK National Health Service must act to prevent racism occurring on a daily basis and undermining health provision. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) should set an example to other professional bodies in the UK by establishing clear codes of practice to eliminate racism through education and workplace culture. The RCN has admitted racism occurs at an institutional level, despite legislation to prevent discrimination in the working environment.
