Workplace transport safety campaign launched

Article Abstract:

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a workplace transport safety campaign. HSE field inspectors will concentrate on transport safety in the next nine months during their visits. A booklet has been produce to help owners, employers and managers to assess risk, organise for safety and establish safe working practices relating to vehicles.

John Gummer, Secretary of State for Environment, has launched new guidance aimed at reducing harmful noise levels at work. The guidance incorporates case studies of different industries and shows that some companies have been able to reduce noise and make financial savings, increase production and improve quality of work.
