Christopher E. Hondros, a photojournalist, is a staff photographer for Getty Images, one of the worldEs leading providers of pictures for newspapers, magazines, advertisers, television programs, books publishers, and Web sites in the U.S. and abroad. In 1999, Hondros was awarded a $25,000 grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to photograph in Kosovo, a province in southern Serbia, which was then wracked by ethnic violence between Serbs and the provinceEs ethnic Albanians.
