Jimmy Wales, a former futures and options trader, is the co-founder of Wikipedia, the Web-based encyclopedia that could be edited by anyone and the founder and chairman of the Wikipedia Foundation, a non profit corporation that operates a variety of open-source wiki project. Wales was included by Times on its list of the 100 most influential people in the World in the year 2006, while Wikipedia has won a handful of awards, one of which is the 2004 Webby Award for best community from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Steve Smith, the five-foot nine-inch wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers, is generally regarded as one of the most versatile players in the game and is fast earning the admiration of his peers in the National Football League (NFL). Smith established a charitable trust in 2004 in the name of the late Demetrius Posey, his former Santa Monica College teammate, and the foundation provides recreational activities for underprivileged children in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
