Article Abstract:
Brian Newell presented his works at his Brian Newell's furniture exhibition at Pritam & Eames in East Hampton, New York that included few pieces of Japanese cedar and traditional casters to tea kettles. His work combines cleanly executed pieces, what seem to be contradictory qualities, such as weight and lightness, formal elegance and whimsy, is his secret.

Thomas Hucker and Jere Osgood made furniture with an intensely practical air and used unexpected combination of wood and unusual colors. Thomas Hucker and Jere Osgood studied in the Program in Artisanry at Boston University in the late 1970s that must have been a mutually rewarding experience.

The Maker's Hand: American Studio Furniture 1940-1990 was organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston exhibiting American studio furniture of different decades. This exhibition showcases 58 objects by 45 studio furniture makers.
