Accord on workforce reductions at Opel
Article Abstract:
The consensus arrived at between the management and employee representatives of Opel's German facilities on its restructuring are discussed. The agreement does not contemplate compulsory redundancies or plant closures but 6,500 jobs will go through voluntary redundancy and another 3,000 through outsourcing and early retirement.

Tackling racial discrimination at work

A review of the findings of new research into racial discrimination at the work place in the car industry in the UK and Germany, conducted by academics in the UK and Germany is presented. The observed discrimination poses as a disadvantage for the country's labor market position.
