Alien rope tricks
Article Abstract:
Bovis Construction Ltd has developed an outdoor teambuilding program for construction managers that has earned academic approval in the form of accreditation as an MSc module. The program was designed to help managers look at personal and management skills as a long-term goal, instead of just being a series of learned techniques. The teambuilding program begins with a five-day course in the Lake District, where participants engage in rigorous outdoor activities in the daytime, followed by indoor analysis sessions in the evening. A month after this course, trainers and participants meet in the workplace. Additional training sessions are then scheduled. More than 80 of Bovis' managers have undergone this course, which they say helped them communicate better on site.

Management Misinformation Today
Article Abstract:
Managers in the health and safety industry have found that they lack information in legal matters. Training is provided by lawyers, but most lawyers lack knowledge in health and safety legislation. As a result, misinformation is passed on to managers. When hiring a speaker on legal topics, credentials should be thoroughly examined to make sure the speaker knows his material.
