Average employee tenure, voluntary turnover ratio, and labor productivity: evidence from Japanese firms
Article Abstract:
Japanese firms' data prove that voluntary turnover ratio is negatively related to firm labor productivity. The study aims to generalize the relationship between employee turnover and organizational performance. Findings indicate that if the firm's human resource practices can effectively reduce voluntary turnover, the firm is will be able to achieve higher labor productivity.
