Schemes for disabled workers under scrutiny
Article Abstract:
Disabled persons in the UK receive job support and assistance from supported employment agencies. A 1995 survey of 101 agencies indicated the types of jobs involved, the integration levels achieved, and the most effective support and placement techniques. Most jobs were in the areas of domestic work and clerical work, or kitchen help. Also discussed are another report evaluating Remploy's work with the disabled and the Dept of Education and Employment's supported employment program.
