Evaluate volunteer experience of women reentering the workforce
Article Abstract:
Women re-entering the workforce have important abilities which employers need, especially now that there are significant labor shortages. The volunteer experience of re-entry women can be compared with job tasks. Committee work can demonstrate motivation, organization, and ability to work with others. Lobbying efforts can yield public speaking and research skills. Recruiting to re-entry women can be economical and practical when opportunities do not specifically require certain ages, gender, or education levels. When reentry women are hired, training and orientation seminars may be important to update technical skills.
